  •  FLOHPA (none / 1)

We will have PA and we must - effectively - have OH, as it is our best bet for a big pickup.  But there is no reason to think that FL is out of reach or even that it is probably red.  NC is probably red.  CO is probably red.  I would even think NV and MO are probably red.  But FL is a way in play.

This is not the point to retreat from tough battles.  The momentum is on our side and we need to act accordingly.  Not brashly - not like GWB in CA in 00 - but confidently and realistically.

    •  Don't count NV out yet... (none / 0)

Things feel different here this year. Loads of bumperstickers; there are now 5000 more dems registered in Nevada than republicans (not counting the ones Sproul tossed). Kerry will be here tomorrow, and 12,000 people are expected. Even though the papers said otherwise, Bush only drew 5000 last week. (And Michael Moore drew 9800 the night before!)

It can't hurt that one of UNR's slogans is "Go Blue!"

      •  NV (none / 0)

I don't want to count it out, but in my mind it is probably red.  I had hoped there would be much more visible movement to bluedom in NV in the last month or two, but it doesn't seem to have panned out.  So I am no longer optimistic about it.  But by all means, if you think it can work out, that's great.  And it is imperative for Kerry to contest it.  We cannot retreat from the fight now.  Got to keep the momentum going.  Got to get them to blink.  Because we sure as hell aren't going to.
